Favorite Shower Products

Happy Monday, Everyone!

It dawned on me yesterday that I really love my current shower products, like, a lot. I use a purple shampoo to keep my blonde highlights as blonde as they’ll be between colors, I found a facial cleanser that takes my make up off (mascara and all), and I just really love the smell and texture of my fun conditioner. So, I figured I would share with you!

I’ll take you through this as I would use these products in the shower.. that’s not weird, right?

#1 – Joico Color Balance Purple Shampoo

It has taken me about a year and a half to find a purple shampoo that I really love, but this my friends is it. I think before this I was using Matrix purple shampoo and for some reason I just didn’t love the scent. It didn’t do a bad job, but didn’t do a super amazing job either, and the scent was just the cherry on top for me, it was time to shop around. It’s hard for me to tell when something really works well on my hair by testing it after a few washes because I wash my hair twice a week (that was a story in itself I’ll have to share with you, too).

I absolutely can say I’ll be with this shampoo for a long time, or at least until I no longer have blonde in my hair. It doesn’t stain my hands purple, it doesn’t stain my tub, but I will say if you get it on your shower curtain liner it’s important to wash it off or it can leave a purple tint. The formula is a bit sticky, so what I do is put a good amount on my hands, and then with one hand I’ll put some on the top of my head, and then rub my hands together again and work the rest through the bottom of my hair. I have very thick hair, so it can take a lot of shampoo to really work my hair into a nice lather, but if you gradually add some water this shampoo lathers up really nicely. I like to leave it on my head as long as possible, so I’ll shampoo up when I get in the shower and then continue with the rest of my products and rinse at the end! That is definitely me though, and I only have blonde highlights, so if you have totally blonde hair I would be careful not to leave it in too long unless your goal is a purple/blue hue! One thing I don’t do is shampoo twice, unless I know I’ve used more dry shampoo than I should have throughout the week, LOL! I feel like it gets my scalp nice and clean with one wash through, which is also nice since this isn’t the most inexpensive shampoo out there! I would definitely recommend using it twice per week  and substituting another shampoo if you wash your hair more than that each week to save the good stuff for only when you need it!

#2 – Neutrogena Hydro Boost Hydrating Cleansing Gel

This is a relatively new product which I’ve been using for about 6 months now and I love it! I have very dry skin, and although it doesn’t totally solve that problem, it definitely does help more than using any other cleansers I’ve tried in the past. The best part about it is it totally takes off my makeup, including my mascara! I don’t use waterproof mascara because I think it’s really hard on my lashes when it comes to removing, so it takes care of my regular mascara with no issues at all! I top this with a moisturizer and my face feels nice and clean and hydrated!

#3 –  Dove Body Wash

Why fix it if it ain’t broken? I’ve been using this body wash for years, simply because I love the way it smells and feels on my skin! It’s hard not to love all of the Dove products, but this one will always be my favorite! I have tried going to other moisturizing body washes but none top the fresh scent, and clean feeling I get from my good ole Dove. ❤

#4 – Herbal Esssences Blue Ginger Foam Conditioner

I tend to have a very oily scalp, so I don’t use conditioner every time I wash my hair to extend life between washes. Last summer we were on vacation in Georgia and were doing a lot of swimming and I needed conditioner to get the tangles out of my hair, so I picked this one up. I love the scent, it isn’t too over bearing but definitely smells like you’re adding something fun and different to your routine. My favorite part about this (and the reason I bought it) was because its a foaming conditioner, how fun is that?! Unfortunately, I don’t think they sell the foaming kind anymore, but you can still get this scent, so I linked it above!

#5 – Batiste Hint of Color – Divine Dark Dry Shampoo

This isn’t a shower product, but I mentioned that I don’t wash my hair every day and this amazing product is why! Like I said before, I have a very oily scalp. I can go 1 day after washing my hair without needing dry shampoo but any more then that and I look like I haven’t washed my hair in weeks. This dry shampoo has been amazing, especially since it has a dark tint to it so I don’t have to worry about a grey hue in my hair! I highly highly recommend this!

There you have it! I love all of these products and don’t plan on switching them out as long as they keep making them! It is fun to try out different products and I’m a sucker for good packaging so I’m bound to try some other things out, but these work so good for me I know I’ll end up back to them!

If you have some favorite products you love, feel free to share them in the comment section! Until next time! xoxo
